In 2007 the World Free Spirit Fist Federation appointed an official Federation Committee, consisting of a Governing Committee and a General Committee.
It's primary concern is to ensure a consistent high standard of teaching and learning throughout the style. Other responsibilities are detailed below, with full details contained in the Instructor's Policy and Procedures handbook.

The Governing Committee is responsible for:
- The strategic direction of the federation
- The formulation of all policy and codes of practice for the federation and determining the syllabus taught
- Gathering the views of all Chief Instructors
via an annual meeting - Authorising instructors to open clubs
- Keeping records of student membership and grading dates
- Ensuring all clubs and instructors are suitably insured
- Ensuring all instructors are suitably qualified
and experienced - Assuring the quality of teaching at all clubs
- Providing seminars for all instructors to keep their
knowledge and skills current - Acting as the Awarding Body for all grades
- Ensuring consistency in grades across the federation
- Authorising all media, clothing and material
pertaining to the federation
The General Committee:
All Duan grades & club instructors
The General Committee is responsible for:
- Providing feedback and views on policy, regulations
and syllabus to the Governing Committee - Ensuring the grading syllabus is followed
- Ensuring all instructors and members are insured
- Attending lessons / seminars with Sijo/Members of the
Governing Committee to keep knowledge current - Ensuring all safety procedures are followed
- Ensuring consistency of grading in clubs
- Providing the highest quality instruction for students
